Woman sent to preventive prison for double homicide in Quilicura

A woman was formalized for two consummated homicides and one frustrated in a shooting in Quilicura, leaving a teenager tetraplegic. The events took place on September 27, 2024, in a local plaza, where two adults lost their lives. The court ordered preventive prison due to the danger she poses to society.

On September 27, 2024, a shooting in the plaza of the Raúl Silva Henríquez neighborhood in Quilicura, Metropolitan Region, left three people seriously injured. Two adults, aged 35 and 87, died: the younger man sustained at least three gunshot wounds to the body, while the elderly man, initially stable after a leg wound, deteriorated over time.

A 14-year-old teenager became tetraplegic from thoracic impacts that damaged his spine. The accused woman was formalized by prosecutors from the Organized Crime and Homicides Team (ECOH) for qualified homicide, both consummated and frustrated, involving a minor, as well as illegal firearm possession.

Fiscal Javier Carreño noted that the PDI and Central North Homicide Brigade's efforts substantiated the crimes and secured preventive detention. Witnesses reported the defendant's involvement in the shooting. The 2nd Guarantee Court in Santiago imposed the maximum precautionary measure, citing the threat to public safety, and set a 120-day investigation period.
