A fire forces high-speed rail interruption between Lleida and Barcelona

A forest fire that broke out in Albi, Lleida, has halted high-speed train services between Lleida and Barcelona since 10:30 a.m. today.

The Generalitat's Civil Protection activated the Ferrocat railway emergency pre-alert after the vegetation fire near the rail line.

ADIF halted traffic between Lleida-Pirineus and Camp de Tarragona stations at the request of firefighters, also affecting high-speed trains between Madrid and Barcelona.

Firefighters deployed 12 units, including three aerial resources, to control the flames affecting stubble fields near the LV7031 road, in the section between Les Borges Blanques and L'Espluga de Francolí.
