Popular accusations have doubled the prison request for David Sánchez Pérez-Castejón to six years in the trial at the Audiencia de Badajoz. The court rejected objections from the prosecution and defenses to the changes in the filings.
On Thursday the six accusations, including the Partido Popular, Vox, Hazte Oír, Abogados Cristianos, Iustitia Europa and Liberum, modified their filings and requested two years in prison for each of the three crimes of malfeasance with influence peddling. Manos Limpias kept its original request of three years. David Sánchez testified for ten minutes and denied influencing the hiring of his friend Luis María Carrero or the change in the name of his post at the Diputación de Badajoz. He stated that the Oficina de Artes Escénicas was an administrative category and not a physical space. The court accepted the new requests, ruling that they did not substantially alter the facts. The session was adjourned until Monday at 9:30 a.m. for closing arguments. The prosecution and defenses requested acquittal for all defendants.
