From Malawian singer Driemo's sophomore album to South African star Tyla's upcoming single, these releases highlight collaborations and personal storytelling across the continent.
In a flurry of creative output, Malawian Afro-pop and R&B artist Driemo, real name Shafie S. Phiri, launched his second studio album, The Magician, on November 14, 2025. The 20-track project, described as “full of soul, emotion, and powerful storytelling,” features collaborations with Zambian artists Yo Maps and Roberto, Zimbabwe's Kae Chaps, and Malawians Gwamba, Malinga Mafia, Suffix, Bee Jay, and Loiso. Producers including Nyanda Made It and Taktic helmed the effort.
Nigerian talent Victony followed with the Very Stubborn EP, emphasizing themes of independence and resilience. The eight-track extended play includes features from Olamide, Terry G, and Don Jazzy, with songs like “Skido” and “E Go Be.”

On the singles front, Nigerian Afropop star Ruger teased “Muhammad Ali,” potentially dropping in November 2025, inspired by the boxer's resilience—a theme echoed in his recent Milan tattoo. Meanwhile, Grammy-winning South African vocalist Tyla announced “Chanel” for October 24, 2025, previewed in Berlin in July, tying into her November “We Wanna Party” tour.
