Alexandre Muller withdrew from his French Open first-round match against Stefanos Tsitsipas on Tuesday after suffering a calf injury.
The 29-year-old Frenchman began the match on Philippe Chatrier court by holding serve and breaking early. He then lost the next nine games in a row, dropping the first set 6-2 and falling behind 3-0 in the second set. Muller requested a medical timeout and returned briefly before shaking hands with Tsitsipas and leaving the court in tears.
