Allianz Indonesia stresses the need for long-term health protection as medical inflation accelerates rising treatment costs.
Allianz Indonesia notes that medical inflation is pushing health costs up faster than national economic growth of around 5 percent. World Bank data shows per capita health spending rose from US$118 in 2019 to US$132 in 2023.
From 2020 to 2025, average costs per case increased 169 percent for stroke, 219 percent for heart disease, 179 percent for cancer, 183 percent for dengue, and 116 percent for typhoid according to Allianz figures.
Allianz Life Indonesia Chief Product Officer Cheang Khai Au said rising medical costs affect how people prepare financial protection. He advised customers to review policy benefits regularly to keep coverage optimal.
