Amenya defeats Hakim by TKO at Rising Stars boxing event

Amos Amenya defeated Abdul Hakim by TKO in the sixth round during the third edition of the SportPesa Rising Stars boxing tournament held on Friday at ASK Showground in Nairobi.

The SportPesa-sponsored event featured eight bouts and drew large crowds to the venue. Amenya secured his win in the super-featherweight division after a hard-fought contest.

Jin Shen, aged 21, stopped Elias Njoroge by TKO in the second round of their bantamweight bout. It marked his second straight victory in the series.

Japheth Akhulia of SportPesa noted the balanced matchups that gave fighters equal chances to showcase talent. Alan McTavish mentioned plans for the 2026 calendar that include a mix of rising-star events.

Other results included Edwin Hayo defeating Moses Siviya and McGregor Njoroge stopping Davis Gwaro.
