Analysts name top prospects likely to be traded ahead of 2026 deadline

MLB Pipeline analysts Jim Callis and Jonathan Mayo have identified several Top 100 prospects as candidates to be dealt before the Aug. 3 trade deadline. The discussion took place on the latest MLB Pipeline Podcast ahead of the 6 p.m. ET cutoff.

Callis selected Dodgers outfielder Zyhir Hope as his top candidate, citing his power potential and defensive versatility. Hope, ranked No. 25 overall, is in Double-A and could be included if Los Angeles pursues a significant acquisition.

Mayo highlighted Yankees right-hander Elmer Rodríguez, noting his big-league experience and Triple-A success at age 22. Rodríguez could slot into a rebuilding rotation immediately, Mayo said.

Other names discussed include Brewers outfielder Josh Adamczewski, Dodgers outfielder James Tibbs III, Cubs infielder Jefferson Rojas, Mariners infielder-outfielder Michael Arroyo, Dodgers outfielder Charles Davalan and Guardians catcher-outfielder Cooper Ingle. Each was flagged due to limited paths to playing time on their current clubs.

The 2026 Trade Deadline remains scheduled for Aug. 3 at 6 p.m. ET, with teams still assessing buy or sell strategies.
