AOI discusses industrial and defence cooperation with DR Congo

Mokhtar Abdel Latif, chairperson of Egypt's Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI), met on Tuesday with Jules Banza Mwilambwe, chief of staff of the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, to explore cooperation in industrial, defence, and development sectors. The Congolese delegation, including senior officials, was received in the presence of Kasongo Musenga Jean-Baptiste, DR Congo's ambassador in Cairo. Discussions covered leveraging AOI's advanced manufacturing for development projects in DR Congo.

Mokhtar Abdel Latif received the Congolese delegation led by Jules Banza Mwilambwe, which included senior officials, for talks centered on defence and security industries.

Both sides reviewed opportunities to use AOI's advanced manufacturing capabilities to support development projects in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, identifying priority areas for collaboration across industrial sectors.

Abdel Latif reaffirmed Egypt's commitment to expanding partnerships with African countries, aligning with directives to deepen economic and industrial integration on the continent and open new export markets. He highlighted AOI's readiness to contribute to DR Congo's development initiatives alongside defence industry cooperation, stressing coordination and transfer of advanced manufacturing technologies.

Mwilambwe expressed his country's interest in strengthening ties with Egypt in industrial and development fields, calling AOI a key industrial arm of the Egyptian state. He emphasized aligning efforts for industrial integration and localizing modern manufacturing technologies.

The visit featured a tour of AOI's product exhibition, where the delegation was briefed on the organization's manufacturing capabilities and diverse product portfolio.
