Egypt reaffirms industrial partnership with Russia at KazanForum 2026

Egypt's Minister of Industry Khaled Hashem reaffirmed Cairo's commitment to deepening industrial and technological cooperation with Russia and the Islamic world at the Russia-Islamic World: KazanForum 2026 in Tatarstan.

Speaking at the plenary session, Hashem described industrial and technological collaboration as a cornerstone for sustainable economic partnerships. He said Egyptian-Russian relations have reached an advanced stage of strategic cooperation under President Abdel Fattah AlSisi and President Vladimir Putin.

Bilateral ties now cover industry, energy, technology, food security and supply chains. Hashem stressed Egypt's goal of becoming a regional industrial and logistics hub that connects Africa, the Arab world, Europe and Asia through its location, trade agreements and the Suez Canal Economic Zone.

He highlighted the Russian Industrial Zone in Ain Sokhna as a key project and said the government is ready to offer incentives to move it into construction and production. Hashem also noted opportunities for cooperation with Tatarstan in engineering, petrochemicals, equipment, energy, technology and training.
