Egypt and Belarus discuss commodity exchange cooperation in Minsk

Egyptian Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid discussed mechanisms for cooperation between the Egyptian and Belarusian commodity exchanges during a visit to Minsk.

Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid met with Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange Chairperson Alexander Osmolovsky and senior officials in the Belarusian capital Minsk. The talks focused on strengthening coordination in commodity trading systems and electronic trading technologies.

Farid described the meeting as reflecting Egypt’s strategy to deepen economic cooperation with Belarus. He said: “We are working to build an integrated economic partnership with Belarus based on trade, investment, and technology transfer.”

Osmolovsky expressed Belarus’s interest in a long-term strategic partnership and confirmed the exchange’s readiness to support knowledge transfer. The visit forms part of Farid’s official trip to chair meetings of the Egyptian-Belarusian Joint Committee.
