Aryna Sabalenka reunites with family in Belarus

World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka returned to Belarus to spend time with her family after recent Grand Slam disappointments.

Aryna Sabalenka visited her home country and shared images on social media showing time with her mother Yulia and sister Tonechka. The caption read “In good company,” highlighting relaxed moments including her mother braiding her hair.

During the trip, Sabalenka introduced her fiancé Georgios Frangulis to her family. The couple, who met through a business deal in 2024 and became engaged earlier this year, plan to marry in 2027.

The visit follows losses at the French Open to Diana Shnaider and at Wimbledon to Naomi Osaka. After the Wimbledon defeat, Sabalenka said she wanted to “get completely drunk, forget about tennis, and try to get in better shape.”

As the two-time defending US Open champion with 36 wins this season, Sabalenka aims to regain form ahead of the final major of the year.
