Axel Rindell joins Brynäs after HV71 departure

Finnish defenseman Axel Rindell has signed with Brynäs following one season at HV71. The 26-year-old leaves after posting a career-high 36 points. He cited a desire to compete for top positions in the SHL.

Rindell completed the move to his fourth SHL club after four years with teams in the lower half of the standings. He expressed excitement about joining a stable organization that aims to win games and reach the playoffs.

The player described his time with HV71 as positive for his development but noted differing goals after the season. Changes in club leadership also factored into the decision, he said.

Interest from teams in Switzerland and other European leagues existed, yet Rindell chose Brynäs. He told GD he wants to win matches and create strong conditions for postseason play.
