Bad Bunny's 'La Casita' stage sparks controversy in Mexico concerts

Bad Bunny's alternate 'La Casita' stage in the General B zone has divided fans between those with expensive tickets and those with more affordable ones. Producer Ocesa offers full refunds for certain zones amid complaints. Experts see this as an effective storytelling strategy boosting sales and visibility.

Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, is on his worldwide tour for the album 'Debí tirar más fotos'. In Mexico, he sold out eight dates at Estadio GNP Seguros, scheduled for December 10, 11, 12, 15, 16, 19, 20, and 21, 2025, leading to an additional section called 'Los Vecinos' due to demand.

The key innovation is 'La Casita', a stage replica of a typical Puerto Rican house from Humacao, inspired by the short film from his album. Located in the General B zone, Bad Bunny performs half his concert there, including songs like 'Tití me pregunt ó', 'Me porto bonito', and 'Safaera', based on his recent show in the Dominican Republic on December 6.

This has sparked controversy: fans with pits or General A tickets, costing over 12,000 pesos, complain about losing proximity, while General B costs around 2,000 pesos. Edson Noya, director of Marketing TDI & La Cocina, defends it: "When Bad Bunny sings on that stage, he's saying: 'my roots are with the people who don't pay VIP'". Noya notes it's disruptive storytelling that has boosted sales beyond the 435 million dollars from his 2022 tour.

Ocesa responded with a statement allowing cancellations and full refunds plus service fees for pits and General A, valid until December 9 via Ticketmaster. Profeco reports eight ongoing conciliations, with no formal complaints yet.

This isn't the first time: in 2022, his 'World's Hottest Tour' at Estadio Azteca was marred by cloned tickets, affecting 2,000 people who received 100% refunds plus 20% compensation, totaling over 18 million pesos. This prompted changes at Ticketmaster, like the Verified Fan system.
