Amritsar's 30-year-old turban specialist Balwinder Singh tied pagdis for Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna in Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar. He recounted his 15-year passion project that began at a gurdwara and led to Bollywood. Ranveer praised him, asking, 'Kya mujhe bhi classes mil sakti hain?'
Balwinder Singh, aka Inder, told Indian Express that he has been tying turbans for 15 years as a passion project. Inspired by kirtan at Amritsar's neighbourhood gurdwara, he learned for a week and then practiced alone, mastering Balochistani, Safa, Rajasthani styles. He started with friends, then entered TV serials in 2020-21. He was selected for the Anupam Kher-led Canadian film Calorie in 2025 after an audition.
