Bleachers unveiled their new single 'I'm Not Joking' on April 30, ahead of their fifth studio album Everyone for Ten Minutes. The track features Jack Antonoff on harpsichord and Dobro, with sincere lyrics about love at first sight. The album is set for release on May 22 via Dirty Hit.
Jack Antonoff, frontman of Bleachers and a thirteen-time Grammy Award winner, plays both harpsichord and Dobro on the maudlin new single 'I'm Not Joking.' The song includes lyrics such as “I’m not joking,” Antonoff sings to his love, “It was love at first sight, good Lord, I found you.” It ambles along with influences from Seventies lite rock and Neil Young’s “Down by the River,” featuring falsetto refrains and Hammond organ by Mikey Freedom-Hart. Antonoff emphasizes sincerity, singing, “All of that fear comes out in the big wash,” and “I’m not joking at all.” The single joins previous releases 'The Van,' 'You and Forever'—whose video stars Antonoff’s wife Margaret Qualley—and 'Dirty Wedding Dress' on Everyone for Ten Minutes. The band describes the album as “essentially an optimistic record that feels lovestruck and hopeful, leaping from harmony-laden folk rock to shimmering pop soul to the sax-assisted New Jersey sound that Bleachers have become synonymous for.” Everyone for Ten Minutes marks the group's fifth studio album since their 2014 debut Strange Desire. Their self-titled fourth album in March 2024 earned critical acclaim and led to a sold-out world tour ending at Madison Square Garden. Bleachers have announced tour dates, including Rolling Stone’s 2026 Rock Tour starting May 20 in New Orleans and their Shadow Of The City festival on May 23 in Asbury Park, New Jersey, followed by UK and European shows in November and December.
