Blue Prince adds colorblind accessibility in patch 1.7

Developer Dogubomb has released update 1.7 for Blue Prince, introducing long-awaited colorblind accessibility features more than a year after the game's launch. The patch includes color assist options, controller remapping, and other enhancements now live on Steam. Additional platforms will receive it pending approvals.

Blue Prince, an award-winning strategy roguelike, launched on April 10, 2025. The game features puzzles reliant on color differentiation, which initially lacked support for colorblind players and customizable controls. Dogubomb addressed these gaps with patch 1.7, adding a Color Assist menu that offers more vivid puzzle colors, pattern overlays for distinction, and a color labeler to identify hues directly in-game. Controller and keyboard remapping, cursor adjustments for opacity, style, and size, an autorun toggle, and motion assist settings to mitigate motion sickness round out the accessibility improvements. Patch 1.7 is available now on Steam and rolling out to other platforms soon. Creator Tonda Ros has committed to a final update, version 1.10, which will include the Digiblocks arcade game, a cat, additional cinematics, and more features before he steps away from development.
