An Alabama woman was strangled by her boyfriend, who then suffered a fatal heart attack while attempting to dispose of her body in a wooded area.
Jessica Folds, 47, of Alabama, was killed by her boyfriend Daniel Robbins, 44, of Georgia, sometime in early June. Robbins collapsed from a heart attack while moving her body in a remote location near Lanett.
The bodies were discovered on June 10 around 12:30 p.m. after deputies responded to a report of an abandoned vehicle along County Road 86 in Chambers County. The vehicle was still running with the driver's side door open when officers arrived.
"Based on the investigation … the female victim was strangled, and it appears the male was attempting to dispose of the body in a remote location," 5th Judicial Circuit District Attorney Mike Segrest told AL.com. Officials have not released a motive for the killing.
Folds and Robbins had been dating, and both lived in the Lanett area at the time. Their bodies were found together in the woods with drag marks leading from the truck to the site.
