Kyle Sanchez, 35, faces first-degree murder charges in the death of his girlfriend Amanda Roark, 37, in Tampa, Florida. The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said the stabbing took place Friday afternoon after Roark called 911.
The incident occurred just after 3 p.m. Friday at an apartment on Tuscan Loon Drive. Roark reportedly told dispatchers, "Please stop. You're f—ing killing me," but the call was too chaotic for them to get the address.
Sanchez called 911 about 10 minutes later and told dispatchers, "Um, I murdered my girlfriend." He said he had a "very unfriendly urge" before grabbing a knife and added that Roark was "beyond help."
Deputies found Sanchez covered in blood when they arrived. Roark was pronounced dead at the scene from multiple stab wounds and defensive injuries. Sanchez was arrested and is being held without bond at the Hillsborough County Jail.
Sanchez, a former data analyst at MacDill Air Force Base, is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
