Arizona man charged after stabbing mother while she slept

A 25-year-old Chandler man is facing attempted murder charges after allegedly stabbing his mother in the neck as she slept on a recliner. The attack occurred early Friday morning in the family home.

George Randall told police he had thought about stabbing his mother for several weeks before carrying out the attack. He said he became upset after she did not respond as he expected when he shared his problems with her, describing her as narcissistic and uncaring, according to an arrest affidavit.
