A 20-year-old man was charged with murder after allegedly stabbing his mother multiple times at her home in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania. Authorities said the attack followed an argument, after which the suspect fled in the victim's vehicle.
Quadir Ford was arrested Monday afternoon after Upper Darby Township police responded to a home on the 4600 block of State Road. Officers found 51-year-old Michelle Fleming dead from 12 stab wounds to the chest, Superintendent Timothy Bernhardt told WPVI. Ford, who had been yelling outside the residence, later admitted to investigators that he killed his mother with a silver knife following their argument and disposed of the weapon along with gloves and a mask, according to a criminal complaint. He also took Fleming's car and phone before driving roughly 20 miles to Springfield Township, where police apprehended him. Ford faces charges including first-degree murder, third-degree murder, criminal homicide, and related offenses. He remains held without bail at the Delaware County Prison. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Tuesday evening, with a follow-up court date set for May 19.
