Pennsylvania parents charged in toddler's beating death

Cynthia Robinson faces first-degree murder charges for allegedly beating her 2-year-old son to death in Chester, Pennsylvania. Her partner, Frank Walton Sr., is accused of preventing medical help to cover up the abuse. Authorities announced the charges after investigating the November 2025 incident.

On November 5, 2025, police responded to the 900 block of Butler Street in Chester around 11 p.m. after reports of an unresponsive toddler in cardiac arrest with possible head trauma. The boy was pronounced dead at a hospital, with blunt force trauma to his head and torso listed as the cause, according to court documents from the Delaware County District Attorney's Office. Three other children were home at the time, and initial claims by Robinson that a sibling caused the death were deemed impossible by investigators. Robinson, 34, allegedly had a history of child abuse and was on supervision for prior endangerment related to drug use around children. The day before the death, witnesses heard her shout profanities at the bleeding boy before dropping him from waist height, authorities said. She faces charges of first-degree murder, third-degree murder, conspiracy, aggravated assault, and endangering children. Walton Sr., 58, is charged with third-degree murder, conspiracy, involuntary manslaughter, and endangering children for blocking medical intervention. Delaware County District Attorney Tanner Rouse called the allegations 'heartbreaking and deeply troubling,' stating, 'A child lost their life at the hands of those who had a fundamental responsibility to love, protect, and care for them.' Robinson is in custody awaiting arraignment on Monday. Walton was denied bail after his arraignment, with a preliminary hearing set for April 28.
