Burström comeback with Boden Hockey delayed to December

Niclas Burström will not return to the ice immediately after signing with Boden Hockey. The 35-year-old former SHL defenseman is expected back in December following a planned break to rebuild fitness.

Niclas Burström has agreed to a comeback with Boden Hockey after a period away from the game. The club, which aims for promotion to HockeyAllsvenskan, confirmed the signing earlier this spring.

Sporting director Jens Hellgren said the timeline was set together with Burström to allow time for preparation. The player will use the fall to regain form without pressure.

Hellgren told NSD that Burström is slated for the later part of the season. "We want to be able to add him when the series starts to tighten up," he said.

The agreement ensures the veteran can contribute when the campaign reaches its decisive stages.
