Økonomiminister Katherina Reiche indtog fredag en konfronterende holdning over for vicekansler og SPD-finansminister Lars Klingbeil i koalitionsstriden om høje brændstofpriser og energipolitik. "Koalitionspartneren har for nylig været kendt for at fremlægge forslag, der er dyre, ineffektive og forfatningsmæssigt tvivlsomme," sagde hun.

Kansler Friedrich Merz var ifølge kilder tæt på ham "befremdet" over den offentlige udveksling og opfordrede Reiche til at udvise tilbageholdenhed. Christian Bäumler fra CDU's sociale fløj krævede oprindeligt Reiches afskedigelse, men trak kravet tilbage. CDA-leder Dennis Radtke understregede behovet for debatter frem for personalediskussioner.
