China Airlines unveils Pikachu Jet CI2 Pokémon aircraft

Taiwan-based China Airlines has partnered with The Pokémon Company to debut its second Pokémon-themed plane, the Pikachu Jet CI2, an Airbus A350-900. The aircraft, featuring 13 Pokémon characters on its fuselage, entered service on April 2. It initially flies Taoyuan to Tokyo Narita and Seattle routes with themed onboard amenities.

China Airlines unveiled the Pikachu Jet CI2 under the theme “Flying Out to the World.” The carrier's second collaboration with The Pokémon Company adorns the plane's fuselage with characters including Hoppip, Flying Pikachu, Jumpluff, Dratini riding Dragonite, Beautifly, Vivillon, Swablu, Altaria, Skiploom, Cresselia, and Clefairy. The design incorporates Taiwan's traditional decorative tile culture with auspicious cloud and floral motifs symbolizing good fortune, plus hidden Pokémon in the patterns, all in a pastel palette matching the airline's plum blossom logo on the tail.
