The Sundsvall Administrative Court has lifted the temporary stop on the lynx hunt in Dalarna. The hunt resumes as the court reviews appeals. One lynx has been shot so far since the March 17 decision.
The Sundsvall Administrative Court decided on Tuesday to lift the temporary halt on this year's lynx hunt in Dalarna, imposed on February 27. The stop came two days before the hunt was set to begin, following appeals including from Naturskyddsföreningen against licensed lynx hunts in several counties. The county administrative board now announces that hunters have the green light to proceed, with 20 lynx permitted to be shot in Dalarna. The hunt runs until March 31 or until the quota is met. Since the halt was lifted on March 17, one lynx has been felled in the county. The court has granted leave for review and will examine the appeals while the hunt continues. Dala-Demokraten's headline calls it 'a victory'.
