At the Third Plenary Meeting of the National Committee of the Union of Young Communists, Cuban youth discussed their role in the country's current situation and contributions to the Government Program. Dr. Roberto Morales Ojeda, a Political Bureau member and secretary of Organization of the Party's Central Committee, reiterated the Party's confidence in youth to consolidate the national project.
The plenary session of the Third Plenary Meeting of the National Committee of the Union of Young Communists (UJC) focused on the role Cuban youth should play in the current national situation and their contributions to implementing the Government Program. Dr. Roberto Morales Ojeda stressed the Party's confidence in young people, stating that they must primarily lead efforts to consolidate and refine this national project with input from all Cubans.
Key missions outlined include the economic battle, unity, and the fight for peace, which faces threats in the region, especially against Venezuela—a nation deserving Cuba's unconditional support. Morales Ojeda recalled Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro's words: «For Venezuela, we will have to give everything.» Facing a «war economy,» he emphasized prioritizing activities that generate foreign currency to address critical issues, such as those in the National Electric System and fuel shortages.
He acknowledged severe problems in domestic production of staples like rice, beans, and sugar, urging revitalization of the sugarcane sector. Efforts should boost local output to replace imports and secure the basic food basket.
