On Monday, April 20, Disney cast members stationed themselves to prevent theme park visitors from nearing the Millennium Falcon building, one of the most sought-after photo opportunities in the Star Wars-themed land. Photos shared by X user @laughingplace captured the barriers in place, with no immediate explanation provided by staff on site or from Disneyland Resort spokespeople. The closure raised questions about potential safety concerns or pre-planned activities, such as filming for promotional content, though no official confirmation emerged that day. The restriction applied only to the exterior area, leaving internal operations untouched. According to the Disneyland Resort app, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run maintained a steady 30-minute wait time throughout the afternoon. Guests could still experience the ride without disruption. Looking ahead, changes are set for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. From April 29, part of the land, including Smugglers Run and Oga’s Cantina, will shift to the original Lucasfilm trilogy era, enabling encounters with characters like Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Leia Organa. On May 22, coinciding with the theatrical release of The Mandalorian & Grogu, Smugglers Run will introduce a new storyline where riders join Din Djarin and Grogu on customizable missions.
