Dmitry Andreikin claims 2026 king of the hill title

GM Dmitry Andreikin won the 2026 Chess.com King of the Hill Championship on Friday after rallying through the losers bracket. The Russian grandmaster defeated CM Bhavesh Mahajan in both the grand final and the reset to claim the $750 first prize.

Andreikin began the knockout stage with a second-round loss to Finnish IM Toivo Keinanen. He then won three straight matches in the losers bracket, defeating Hungarian IM Nhat Minh To, defending champion GM Mitrabha Guha, and Keinanen again before reaching the final.
