Draymond Green has agreed to return to the Golden State Warriors for a 15th season. The four-time champion signed a one-year, $27.7 million contract after opting out of his previous deal to create roster flexibility.
Green's new deal matches the terms of the contract he declined earlier this summer. The move came after LeBron James signed with the Philadelphia 76ers, ending speculation about a potential reunion in the Bay Area.
Green addressed the Warriors' pursuit of James during an episode of his podcast. "You look at Golden State, and I ultimately don't think Bron was ever able to get over the history, and I understand it, I get it," he said.
Among active players, only teammate Stephen Curry has spent more seasons with a single franchise. Both Green and Curry, along with Jimmy Butler, are set to become unrestricted free agents next summer.
