Abdelatty and Saudi FM Discuss Gaza, Sudan, Supreme Council After UAE Forum

Following his recent meetings at the UAE's Sir Bani Yas Forum, Egypt's Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held a phone call with Saudi counterpart Faisal bin Farhan on Monday, focusing on preparations for the inaugural Egyptian-Saudi Supreme Coordination Council while reaffirming shared priorities on Gaza and Sudan.

Egypt's Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty emphasized the strong bilateral ties with Saudi Arabia during a Monday phone call with Faisal bin Farhan, highlighting efforts to finalize arrangements for the first meeting of the Egyptian-Saudi Supreme Coordination Council to enhance strategic partnership and regional stability, per Egypt's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The ministers reaffirmed positions on Gaza discussed at recent international forums, including sustaining the ceasefire, advancing the second phase of U.S. President Donald Trump's plan, implementing UN Security Council Resolution 2803, and deploying a temporary international stabilization force to monitor compliance, protect civilians, ensure aid delivery, and support Palestinian law-enforcement roles.

On Sudan, they stressed ongoing coordination via the quadrilateral mechanism to achieve a comprehensive ceasefire, establish humanitarian corridors, and uphold Sudan's sovereignty, unity, and stability.

Both sides also rejected unilateral measures on Nile water that could harm downstream nations.
