Equestrians advised on new inheritance tax rules

Specialists from law firm Birketts and accountancy firm Ellacotts offered guidance on recent inheritance tax changes during a webinar on 13 May.

Changes to agricultural property relief and business property relief took effect on 6 April. These adjustments limit the previous full 100 percent relief on the first £2.5 million per person, with 50 percent relief applying thereafter. The rules affect equestrian businesses in specific ways depending on their operations.
