Erin Napier cries over emotional reveal in Home Town season 10

In the upcoming season of HGTV's Home Town, Erin Napier became emotional during a renovation reveal at a local maternity ward. The project holds deep personal significance for the Napiers, as it is where their family began. Season 10 premieres on January 4 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

Erin Napier, 40, and her husband Ben, 42, are set to premiere the 10th season of their HGTV series Home Town on January 4. Among the renovations featured is a makeover of a maternity ward at a hospital in Laurel, Mississippi, transforming it into a space that offers patients "a five-star-hotel experience."

The location is particularly meaningful to the couple. Erin, along with their daughters Helen, 8, and Mae, 4, and other relatives, were born there. It marks the start of their family and a personal milestone for Erin, who overcame a lifelong fear of childbirth. That fear originated around age 6 when she saw a birth photo in a medical book owned by her father, a doctor of physical therapy. "Having children was my biggest fear my whole life," Erin shared. "And so having our kids was huge because we were becoming parents. But I had defeated one of my biggest fears in life there."

The reveal proved overwhelming. "I cried like an idiot at the reveal," Erin confessed. "I'm so embarrassed by this!"

Beyond the hospital project, the Napiers are navigating family changes at home. Mae recently transitioned from an antique twin bed to a full-size one, ending a cherished bedtime routine where the entire family—Ben, at 6-foot-6, included—would squeeze in to read together. The crib, which Ben built during season 2 and unused for two or three years, was dismantled and stored, evoking strong emotions. "That was tough," Erin said. "Taking apart the crib... Devastating. We won't see it again until we have grandkids."

Erin reflected on parenting's bittersweet nature: "trying to hold on to their kids' youth is like trying to hold water in your hands. You just can't. And it's the hardest part, but also so cool to see the way they become real people with real thoughts and opinions."
