In a continuation of recent high-level assessments, Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed chaired a review meeting in Addis Ababa on Miyazya 21, 2018 EC (April 29, 2026), focusing on social sector progress.
Labour and Skills Minister W/ro Mufiyat Kamil noted that recent efforts have sustained job creation momentum, with partner institutions, business expansion, upgraded job centres, and digitalized TVET contributing to opportunities for nearly 20 million people domestically, abroad, and remotely.
Planning and Development Minister Dr. Fissum Assefa presented the fiscal year 2018 100-day assessment and nine-month performance, reporting average 22% growth in jobs. Specifically, 4.32 million positions were created in the past nine months, up from 3.25 million the previous year, with strong contributions from agriculture, services, and industry sectors.
