Ethiopian Parliament approves three World Bank loan deals

Ethiopia's House of People's Representatives approved three loan agreements with the International Development Association during a special session.

The sixth House of People's Representatives held its first special session of the fifth working year in Addis Ababa and endorsed three financing agreements.

The first provides 437 million 400 thousand SDR for sustainable and inclusive growth policy. The second allocates 145 million 500 thousand SDR for a community land management program. The third grants 54 million 600 thousand SDR for a climate-resilient irrigation project.

Finance Minister Ahmed Shide stated that the agreements demonstrate tangible changes in development efforts and will boost exports while supporting youth, women and farmers.
