A surprise update to Final Fantasy Tactics – The Ivalice Chronicles introduced New Game+ on June 17. The mode preserves player progress for repeat playthroughs. It also includes several quality-of-life improvements.
Update 1.5.0 launched across consoles and PC. It adds a menu explaining the Zodiac Compatibility system and options to remove all equipment at once. Additional toggles for auto-proceed and guaranteed ability incantations support faster grinding.
New Game+ carries over all units and inventory. Players can now farm multiple sets of Genji Armor, previously limited to one per playthrough.
Director Yasumi Matsuno said the feature had been requested since the remaster project began. He credited the greenlight to sales exceeding 1 million units. Matsuno noted budget limits had delayed it earlier.
