Ildfestival afholdt i Malmø trods sikkerhedsproblemer

Mens ildfesten blev aflyst i Stockholm og Göteborg på grund af sikkerhedsproblemer, samledes omkring 200 mennesker i Beijers park i Malmø for at fejre Chaharshanbeh Soori forud for det persiske nytår Nouruz.

Ildfestivalen, eller Chaharshanbeh Soori, fejres tirsdagen før det persiske nytår Nouruz og er en over 4.000 år gammel tradition blandt bl.a. iranere og kurdere. Deltagerne tænder bål og hopper over dem for at rense sjælen og byde lys og forår velkommen. I år blev begivenheden aflyst i Stockholm og Göteborg på grund af Säpos advarsler om øget risiko for eks-iranere i forbindelse med krigen mellem USA, Israel og Iran. Riksteatern begrundede aflysningerne med risici for publikum og kunstnere. I Malmø arrangerede byen begivenheden i Beijers park på trods af situationen. Sidste år samledes omkring 1.500 mennesker; i år anslog politiet 200 deltagere. Ingen politiske symboler eller flag var tilladt, og der blev afholdt et parallelt alternativt arrangement i en anden park. Der var øget sikkerhed med politi, vagter og medicinsk personale. Deltagerne udtrykte blandede følelser. Tahmoures Yassami, som har fejret siden 1987, ønskede sig fred i verden og bedre tider i Iran: "Ingen krig har ført til demokrati." Akbar Malekpour understregede traditionens betydning: "Det er i de mest kritiske tider, at vi har mest brug for at bevare traditionerne." Nikwan Shariatipour ønskede "held og lykke og selvfølgelig frihed for vores hjemland." Nora Dakic følte sig sikker og mente, at Malmø gjorde ret i ikke at aflyse.
