The Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries announced a special fuel price cut for fishing vessels between 30 and 200 GT.
Minister Sakti Wahyu Trenggono stated that the Rp 15,000 per liter fuel price will reduce fishing operational costs. The previous price was Rp 21,300 per liter.
The policy follows President Prabowo Subianto’s directive in a limited meeting in Hambalang, Bogor, on 13 July 2026. Funding comes from the Plantation Fund Management Agency, not the state budget.
Director General of Capture Fisheries Lotharia Latif will draft distribution rules and mechanisms with relevant ministries to ensure targeted delivery.
