A 69-year-old Florida man who serves as president of a homeowners association faces charges of child abuse and petit theft after allegedly pushing a 12-year-old boy off his bicycle. The incident occurred Tuesday evening in the Spruce Creek Fly-In community in Port Orange. The boy had recently moved to the area from Texas.
Paul Holmes is accused of confronting the boy near the community's clubhouse and tennis court. According to deputies, the victim said he was resting when Holmes stared at him before the boy raised his middle finger and attempted to ride away. Holmes then allegedly pushed the child to the ground and stated, 'Do you know who I am? I'm president of the HOA.' He took the bicycle and placed it in his car before driving off.
