A Medicina Legal report classified the death of 52-year-old Yulixa Toloza as homicide after an aesthetic procedure in Bogotá. Her body was found on May 19 in Cundinamarca.
The forensic report issued on May 27 concluded that the death was violent and a homicide. It linked the fatality to liposuction performed on the abdomen and back.
The autopsy documented fractures in ribs on both sides of the thorax, hematomas in the back, neck lesions and at least 11 sharp-force wounds. No penetration into the thoracic or abdominal cavities was found.
Medicina Legal identified pulmonary fat embolism that caused acute respiratory failure, along with signs of acute anemia. Toxicological analyses of liver, kidney and other tissue samples remain pending.
