Galeria modtager ny kredit fra Bain Capital

Stormagasinkæden Galeria har modtaget en ny kredit på ti millioner euro fra mindretalsaktionæren Bain Capital. Administrerende direktør Tilo Hellenbock har bekræftet dette over for Handelsblatt. Brofinansieringen skal give kortvarig lindring til den anstrengte likviditetssituation.

I Düsseldorf har Galeria sikret sig endnu en finansieringslinje fra Bain Capital. Investoren, der ejer seks procent af aktierne gennem flere selskaber, stiller en kredit på ti millioner euro til rådighed for detailhandleren, ifølge kilder tæt på virksomheden, som Handelsblatt har rapporteret. Administrerende direktør Tilo Hellenbock bekræftede aftalen, da han blev spurgt.

Dette er ikke Bain Capitals første kredit til Galeria. Sidste år havde aktionæren allerede stillet 60 millioner euro til rådighed, som Galeria betaler en rente på næsten 15 procent af, som Handelsblatt tidligere har rapporteret. Virksomheden ønskede ikke at kommentere sagen på det tidspunkt.

Baggrunden er svage salgstal og store udsving i likviditeten, hvilket Hellenbock har erkendt. Han forblev optimistisk og udtalte, at situationen ville stabilisere sig, og at Galeria planlægger andre tiltag for at forbedre sin likviditet.
