Germany came from behind to defeat Ivory Coast 2-1 in a Group E match at the 2026 World Cup in Toronto. Deniz Undav scored twice, including a 94th-minute winner, to secure the victory.
Germany trailed at halftime after Franck Kessie gave Ivory Coast the lead in the 30th minute. Yan Diomande set up the goal with a cross that led to Kessie's finish.
Undav entered as a substitute and equalized in the 68th minute. He then scored the winner in stoppage time from a pass by Felix Nmecha.
The result sends Germany into the knockout stages for the first time since their 2014 World Cup triumph. Ivory Coast showed promise in attack but could not hold their lead.
