Giants top Rockies 4-2 after balk dispute and ejection

The San Francisco Giants defeated the Colorado Rockies 4-2 on Saturday afternoon at Oracle Park. Tyler Mahle delivered a strong seven-inning outing to secure the win.

Mahle allowed one run on five hits while striking out several batters in a season-high seven innings. The performance marked his second victory of the year and first since April 22.

Casey Schmitt hit a three-run homer to give the Giants the lead, while Jesus Rodriguez added an RBI double. Mahle improved to 2-8 with a 5.31 ERA.

A controversial balk call in the third inning allowed the Rockies their only run and led to Giants manager Tony Vitello's ejection. Vitello argued the delayed decision and its impact on the count.

This marked Vitello's second ejection in his first season as manager. Mahle signed a one-year, $10 million contract with the Giants before the season.
