A gunman carried out multiple attacks in Tarsus on Monday, killing at least six people and wounding eight others. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed the deaths and offered condolences after a cabinet meeting. Police are searching for the suspect with helicopters and drones.
The 37-year-old suspect, identified as Metin O, allegedly shot his wife in a street before opening fire at a restaurant, where he killed the owner and an employee. He then killed a teenager, a 50-year-old man and one other person in another neighborhood before fleeing by car, according to the state-run Anadolu Agency and Demirören News Agency.
