Hong Kong’s construction industry will encounter AI systems and robotics at an industry event hosted by the Construction Industry Council this week.
The first Global AI and Smart Construction Conference and Exhibition will run June 24 to 25 at Hong Kong Science Park. It aims to move the sector from discussion to action with ready-to-use solutions.
More than 50 exhibitors from Hong Kong, the Chinese mainland, Singapore and elsewhere will showcase tools for design through long-term operations. The event includes sessions by over 40 speakers and the inaugural CIC AI Award with more than 250 submissions.
Ir Albert Cheng, Executive Director of the Construction Industry Council, said the exhibits were chosen for real-site applicability. He noted HK$1.4 billion in combined government and CIC funding plus training programmes to support adoption of local and mainland BIM platforms.
