Hulk, who spent five and a half seasons at Galo, posted a farewell video on social media to fans. In it, he praised his time at the club: “Camisa a gente troca, mas a história ninguém apaga. E o que a gente viveu aqui não termina hoje. Isso continua em cada torcedor, em cada criança que ainda vai sonhar, em cada vez que alguém gritar ‘Aqui é Galo!'”.
Over his tenure at Atlético-MG, Hulk played 311 matches and scored 140 goals. He won key titles, including the Série A Brasileirão and Copa do Brasil in 2021, the Supercopa do Brasil in 2022, and five Campeonato Mineiro trophies.
