Following the March 28 announcement of the Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration (ECVR), Kenya's IEBC has outlined county-specific targets totaling over 5.8 million potential new voters—primarily youth—in its 30-day drive from March 30 to April 28. This builds on the initial 2.5 million registration goal, aligning with the revived 'Niko Kadi' youth campaign. Nairobi leads with 310,486 targets.
As the IEBC's one-month voter registration drive kicked off on March 30 at Huduma Centres, offices, and other sites nationwide, the commission released detailed targets across counties, aiming to enroll over 5.8 million new voters—many reaching voting age—ahead of the 2027 elections. This expands on the announced goal of 2.5 million registrations, boosted by former Chief Justice David Maraga's support and Gen Z's revival of the 'Niko Kadi' campaign via social media and public events.
Urban and High-Population Counties: Nairobi tops the list at 310,486 (focusing on students and informal workers), followed by Kakamega (236,156), Nakuru (221,164), Bungoma (216,411), Kiambu (183,783), and Kilifi (168,131).
Mount Kenya and Rift Valley: Meru (156,592), Narok, Uasin Gishu, Kisii (159,245), and Homa Bay (147,809).
Ukambani and North Eastern: Kitui (138,780), Machakos (133,692), Mandera (121,563), Makueni (109,141).

The drive emphasizes youth democratic engagement, complementing the initial rollout preparations involving 12,000 workers at over 30,000 centres.
