Jorge Ferraresi, a mayor close to Axel Kicillof, resigned from his municipal post to tour Buenos Aires Province. He will be replaced by his wife, Magdalena Sierra.
The leader stepped away from municipal management to strengthen the Movimiento Derecho al Futuro ahead of the 2027 succession of the Buenos Aires governor.
Ferraresi aims to build his candidacy through tours across the province. Magdalena Sierra, chief of staff and wife of the leader, will assume the municipal post.
The decision became known on July 3, 2026, and seeks to project his political figure within the ruling space.
