A preliminary hearing in the case against Tyler Robinson featured new security footage and emotional moments in court this week. Prosecutors presented evidence placing Robinson on the Utah Valley University campus multiple times on the day Charlie Kirk was killed.
During Monday’s hearing in Provo, Utah, Judge Tony Graf Jr. flinched while viewing graphic footage of the assassination. Kirk’s parents and widow left the courtroom before the video played. Donald Trump Jr. attended the proceedings.
On Tuesday, former investigator David Hull testified that Robinson was on campus four times on September 10, 2025. Footage showed him interacting with Turning Point USA members, buying food at a Chick-fil-A, and walking with a limp minutes before the shooting. Additional clips captured a person believed to be Robinson moving into a prone position just before the shot and fleeing afterward.
Robinson faces the death penalty. The hearing continues to determine whether there is enough evidence for him to stand trial.
