Jules Moussard wins Titled Tuesday chess tournament

GM Jules Moussard secured his first Titled Tuesday title on June 23 with a 10/11 score, finishing a full point ahead of the field.

Moussard defeated several top players en route to victory in the weekly Chess.com event for titled players. He recovered from a seventh-round loss to GM Matthias Bluebaum by winning his final four games, including a decisive clash with GM Oleksandr Bortnyk in the last round.

GM Denis Lazavik and IM Renato Terry shared second place on nine points, with Lazavik taking the higher spot on tiebreaks. Six players reached that score total.

The tournament featured several dramatic moments, including Bluebaum hanging a rook in round eight and Bortnyk delivering a mate-in-one against Terry in round 10. Moussard becomes the third first-time winner of the event in 2026.
